I Reinvented The Wheel

Quick Project: I had this low table base from an old work project and decided to finally cast a top for it. I'm trying to get rid of "old projects" that are taking up space in my shop.

I forgot to take pictures of the form before I poured it.  It's just plywood and masonite.  Instead of getting fancy trying to make it strong, I used a ratcheting tie down around the masonite to keep it from blowing out.  Worked fine.

We used "Pam" on the form and the top came right out except this one piece.  It took some careful forcefulness to not screw up the concrete.

So...finally removed the wood slat and it's ready to mount on the base

Wasn't too tough...so, Done!

Now I need some vintage metal lounge chairs...and a margarita.
